The exhibition “Räume mit Aussicht” (Rooms with a view) brings artistic impulses from Los Angeles to Berlin and provides an insight into the projects of the projects created by the Villa Aurora fellows. The eight artists lived in Los Angeles for three months in 2022 and developed new artistic approaches and questions on site. In the exhibition, the artists enter into a dialogue through their works and present their different perspectives on California - from billboard advertising to the film industry, from reflections on the Pacific Ocean to the risk of earthquake risk in the Los Angeles metropolis. The artists also raise questions about social change, migration and exile. The artistic approaches developed in Los Angeles have been further developed for the exhibition in Germany and their cross-Atlantic perspective clarified.
