Pop-up Exhibition of the Association of Female Artists Berlin 1867

In the Pop-Up exhibition of the Association of Female Artists Berlin 1867, more than 40 female artists, all members of the Association, present excerpts of their current work. The materials range from oil paint to gold leaf, from graphite to pigments. The techniques encompass oil painting, drawing, and lithography, papercutting, collage, and assemblage as well as photography and film.

The works in the exhibition reflect the artists’ experiences of the world and refer to complex social processes. The artistic angles and approaches are different and yet, as with an orchestral piece, a harmonious and at the same time emphatic overall sound emerges for this show of works.

Visit the Website and Facebook page of the Association of Female Artists Berlin 1867 for more information about the artists, and behind the scene impressions of the exhibition setup.
