The works of Artan Shabani and Ben Kamili are about the universal power of color and its ability to transport emotions. Strong color contrasts trigger vibrations in the viewer. But the artists go even further. Through the expressive and sometimes very impasto application of paint, the oil paint becomes an object. It acquires a material quality that appeals to all oursenses. The concentration on the color is also expressed in the degree of abstraction of the works. Although we think we know all the motifs, both artists have freed themselves from the dictates of depicting reality and have made color the all-important means of expression.

Artan Shabani (born 1969 in Vlora, Albania) lives and works in Tirana and Turin. In his artistic practice he uses many different media and themes. His works can be seen regularly in group and individual exhibitions and are already part of important museum collections and private collections.

Ben Kamili (born 1969 in Orash e Poshtme, Macedonia) has lived in Berlin since 1991. Between 1998 and 2004 he studied painting at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts with Prof. Klaus Fussmann. As a plein-air painter, he mostly works in front of the motif, whether in castle gardens, on the coast, on the banks of the Elbe or in the port of Hamburg. His works can be seen regularly in group and individual exhibitions and are already part of important private collections.
